Registration for our Plate to Pasture Farmer Conference is free for Silver Fern Farms Farmer Suppliers, Shareholders and their teams.  Farm staff in all roles are encouraged to register for the conference - we'd love to see current and future on-farm decision-makers represented in our attendees.


Shareholders will be given preferential allocation. Please note - you will need your Shareholder or Supplier Number to complete the registration.

 

You will need to complete one registration for each person attending our Silver Fern Farms 2023 Plate to Pasture Farmer Conference in it's entirety. 

   

In addition to registering your attendance for the main conference session (by completing this form), you will be asked to register for various optional activities.  At this time you may request additional tickets for your farm team to attend social functions should they not be able to attend the conference.  Again, please note, anyone attending the daytime conference sessions must complete the full registration.

Cooks on Fire Welcome BBQ

This year's we bring to you TVNZ's new cooking show Cooks on Fire to our Welcome BBQ! It is a great opportunity to spend some time with fellow farmer suppliers. The final of the 2023 Silver Fern Farms Boning Competition will also take place on this evening. Space is limited so be sure to select a ticket to secure your place.

75th Anniversary Celebration and Plate to Pasture Awards Dinner

The Plate to Pasture Awards give us the opportunity to recognise our farmers who live and breathe food and understand what their consumers want from quality red meat and the people who produce it. Taking place at Te Pae Convention Centre, the overall winner of the 2023 Plate to Pasture Award will be announced.

If you have family travelling with you that would like to attend the Plate to Pasture Awards Dinner ONLY, please select additional tickets here. Space is limited; should you want more than two tickets person, preference will be given to shareholders. Please put your request for additional tickets in the free format box below. Anyone attending the conference sessions MUST complete their own registration and select a ticket for the Plate to Pasture Awards Dinner in that registration.

BBQ Masterclass with Dean Davis

Having achieved number one in New Zealand, and representing the land of the long white cloud at the Steak Cookoff World Champs in Texas last year; local Cantabrian Dean Davis returns this year to showcase his skills, tips and tricks on how to cook to perfection with his BBQing Masterclass.

Lunch will be included at the end of the BBQing Masterclass Tour. Those who need to catch flights the class will finish no later than 2pm for you to make your way to the airport.

Farm Tour - Silverstream Charolais hosted by Brent & Anna Fisher

The Silverstream Charolais Stud operation is situated 20 minutes from Christchurch, and is widely recognised as a leading provider of Charolais genetics. Silverstream Charolais was established back in 1968 by Bruce and Maureen Fisher, and is now owned by Brent and Anna Fisher. The Silverstream bloodlines trace back to the Brookfield Charolais herd.

Today the Silverstream herd consists of 300 registered Charolais cows and 70 Hereford registered cows across two properties, and they also run 500 finishing steers and heifers, and 8000 lamb. The flat block is 510ha and sits about 2 metres above sea level. During the summer months 440ha is irrigated by a centre pivot and roto-rainer irrigators. The hill block sits only 4km from the boundary of the flat property. This block is 540ha and rises to 350 metres above sea level. Silverstream Charolais has been GHG Sequestration-mapped with Silver Fern Farms, and is working towards NZFAP Plus certification.

Lunch will be included at the end of the Farm Tour. Those who need to catch flights home will be returned to Christchurch Airport no later than 3pm for check-in.

Getting There

Silver Fern Farms will be putting on coach transfers to / from the the Farm. Please let us know if you will or won't be travelling in a 4WD so we can arrange the right size coach.

Plant Tour - Silver Fern Farms Pareora Site

Attendance at the 2023 Farmers Conference is complimentary, you are responsible for your own travel and accommodation arrangements and costs. Should your plans change, and you are unable to make it, please let us know at your earliest convenience. Should you cancel within 7 days of the conference, a $350 per person cancellation fee may apply together with any accommodation costs.
